Wow, I can't believe it has taken me this long to get started with this site.
I have finally gotten my act together and really formalized what I plan to do with The Normal fat Guy brand and this site.
My mission has been to help normal adults lose weight and get in shape, like I did. If you are like me you are a typical adult with a family and career that often gets in the way of you managing your basic health.
Then, before you know it, you have gained weight you did not want. That was me, twice!
I hit 272 pounds twice and have now lost the weight and got back to where I was in high school. I feel great. So much so, I routinely compete at Spartan races!
Even though I have done research and now routinely work out I still find it difficult to manage my weight. Let's face it adulting is not easy and it makes weight management difficult.
That is why the about 2/3 of the United States is overweight. And what's worse, excess fat is probably our number one export.
I visited India this Spring and obesity is becoming a common problem with one of the healthiest cultures in the world. The cause is the rise of the middle class and access to less than healthy food, just like the good ole USA.
Don't get me wrong, I love pizza and pancakes. I just don't eat them near as much as I did in the past.
After I lost the weight, friends and family encouraged me to write a book on how I lost 66 pounds in 108 days.
The book chronicles my journey and then what I learned about obesity and weight loss in the months after I got back in shape.
Yeah, I did it without referencing any popular diet or even looking up how we gain weight or how to lose it. I just started eating better and exercising my ass off!
I don't want you to go into it blindly. Now I have done research and have a basic system to govern my life style.
This site will be a reference for you, the normal adult, to lose weight, get in shape and stay that way.
There is no reason we weigh as much as we do. I want to help you, your family and friends.
